It was in 1934 when Casa Alfonso was inaugurated. The protagonists of this event were great-grandfather Alfonso and great-grandmother Rosario, the first generation of the family. The premises opened its doors with what until then had been a tannery in a hard time, not an easy time for Barcelona, because 2 years later a Civil War started in Spain that lasted 3 years, from 1936 until the end of the war in 1939. Since Casa Alfonso opened its doors, it has been known as the emblematic delicatessen where you could go to buy the best Iberian cured meats and seafood, and where you could taste its products right there. In the 1970s, thanks to a customer of the house, the now typical sandwich in flute bread, very similar to the classic French baguette, was introduced for the first time in Barcelona. In the 80s, it was time to share knowledge and hand over part of the management to the third generation of Alfonsos, the current owner. Who adapted Casa Alfonso to what we know today as Taberna histórica and Colmado Gourmet Alfonso, where you can not only enjoy all its gastronomy, but also have the option to buy the best Iberian and gourmet products and enjoy them wherever you want. Today, Casa Alfonso is still the Taberna Histórica and Colmado Gourmet that offers its own brand of Iberian meats and its wide selection of 100% organic products, as well as giving way to the fourth generation, a generation headed by Claudia, offering its own brand of gourmet products.
